Go grab a beer, sit back, and watch what this guy does for a living. And be sure to watch in full screen, for best effect.

Yes, sadly, lo res. But still, as you say, holy shit. Cue the nope nope nope octopus.

Plus, I'm on a small monitor right now.

I remember seeing this close to a year ago when I got laid off. I went looking at cell tower jobs LOL. Wasn't really qualified other wise I'd be doing this.

I've a done a few drugs, drank a few dranks, sky diving was the greatest high I've ever had. That job would have to be close.

Oh. My. God.

I can do roller coasters where you're strapped in, but that shit looks terrifying.

I think I could almost handle it going up, if I tied off regularly. This guy free climbs way too much for my stomach. And I think coming down would be more terrifying than going up.

I've done a few drugs, drank a few dranks, but I've never jumped out of a perfectly good airplane, and while I respect those who do, I never will. I don't do sheer heights. Put me on a mountain, I'm great. Take me to the cliff, I'm jelly.

Exactly. I would need harnesses and a back up parachute. I thought the free-climbing was the worst, until I saw him stand at the top. Then I thought about going down...

Thought this was worthy of sharing......All along, totally fine with idea of jumping out the plane. The craziest part was thinking about on the way up, because the type of plane they use is fairly slow and the thought simmers on your way to jump.

Hell, I climbed up on the FLAT roof of my mom's house in Arizona, and it took me ten minutes to figure out how to get back on the ladder to come down. This dude climbed to the top, and it still wasn't the top, so he climbed some more, then he had to go farther to get to the top. And I could manage to stand on the tippy top, but Jesus, ask me to bend down and start climbing down?? You'd have to send my meals up for the rest of my life.

I work on top of 30+ liter engines... I do remember seeing this video years ago, and being stunned into amazement into how much I would like this job.

Think about it, how often do you really need to adjust your balance as you climb a ladder? Why should a ladder 1050x as tall (multiplication approximated) be any more scary?

I've done that, engines requiring ladders to access different levels. 1200 liter engines are even more fun.

I don't like heights, but I have always found jumping out of an airplane easy(and there is no such thing as a perfectly good plane lol). It's to high to bother me, the first time I exited a high performance aircraft it felt surreal, after that it just became a chore. Now on this job of climbing a signal tower, I wouldn't do it unless I was getting six figures for it lol.

How do you spell "nightmare"?

You spell it, "1760 feet straight up without a harness." Honestly, going up wouldn't be have as terrifying to me as coming down. Once on top of that beacon, you'd have to send my food up, cause I'm there for the duration.

I service industrial lasers. Resonator repairs and tuning quite frequently. Standing on a ladder tweaking a machine with a 100,000 watt live beam in it is not for the faint of heart. There are plenty of safety devices for the operators but not for the guy who has to climb in there and fix what's wrong. It really focuses your attention.

Saw this a while back. Gaaaargh I don't know how people do it. Maybe if I had a parachute I could. Maybe. Although probably not since there are still plenty of areas you could fall where it wouldn't help. Otherwise though I literally don't know if I could force myself to do it if anything less than my life depended on it. Even then it would be a challenge. Barf.
